Try resetting recovery by opening iTunes and connect the phone to your Mac/PC. Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time. As soon as the screen goes black release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iphone in recovery mode.

Yasss! I used wine bottler to run it in windows xp and it runs like a champ.

I wish I could stop playing... No it doesn't. It can be played on mac using wine also.
