    Go into the arena. In top middle will have your current level with a red up arrow. Click on the arrow and it will bring you to a menu on how to upgrade your power level. I found raising the knight collection levels the fastest.

    Both gold and gems can be edited with IGG.

    When I activated the first three, my gold went into the negative when trying to level up?

    Unless it was a promotional VIP status that I was unaware of... I'm cheap, I don't spend money on game apps, that's why I am here so I wouldn't spend money on VIP status. For those curious, coins are used in game to buy levels. Once you spend all coins, you can't play anymore. The coins feature is locked behind VIP.
