iRevert is one of a handful software’s that allow you to successfully downgrade from iOS 8 to iOS 7.1.2 without itunes or loosing data and to our knowledge its the only tool to be able to do this without your device having to be jailbroken or having to save previous SHSH blobs.
So How Does This Downgrader Work?
To downgrade apples devices you will usually need iTunes, this is because iTunes is the only software that can write certain iOS 8 Data on your phone. This is because of 2 things, one being access tokens that allow iTunes to right certain data on your phone such as iOS data when a phone is downgraded and the second being shsh blobs which are the little crypto files that control what version your phone is running. In the past people have using methods like copying SHSH blobs to trick itunes into downgrading your phone. These methods however no longer work, iRevert has certain access tokens that trick your phone into allowing it to write iOS data, other software’s have been able to do this in the past but have failed by not being able to write correct SHSH blobs. iRevert includes these when writing IOS files so when you turn or phone on or connect to itunes it seems that your phone has always been running a previous iOS.
How Can i Downgrade My Device??
Before we start there’s a few things you should know, this software does not support really old devices such as the iphone 3/3gs and the iPod one. You can use this software to downgrade a iOS 7 devices to iOS 6 but this process will take a lot longer and people with a Jailbroken device will only be able to partially downgrade there device meaning some newer iOS files may still remain on the phone but don’t worry this will not make much of a difference.
Step 1 Downloading:
The first step is to download the software and extract it to your desktop using an extractor tool such as Winzip or Winrar these are both free see below for all required links.

Step 2 Installing:
Next step is installation, launch the setup file and install with default settings, when prompted for mode type select universal and continue installation. Once its complete you should see a desktop icon click and launch the downgrade client.
Step 3 Connect & Proceed:
You should now be prompted with a disclaimer screen, connect your phone via USB then agree & continue selecting the iOS Version that you would like to downgrade to.
Notes:
Downgrading to iOS 6 can only be done from iOS 7.1. devices if you are running an older version then you will need to also download the previous version of this software.
Downgrading iOS 8 is supposed to be quicker but can sometimes take up to 15 minutes depending on your device and version.
Step 4:
Select your downgrade type for this select “full” unless you have a jailbroken device if so click on partial.
Step 5 Compatibility Check:
Your device should already be connected by this step if not connect it now then click sync to check the compatibility, this can take anywhere from 3-5 minutes.
Step 6 Downgrading:
If your device is compatible click on downgrade, you may want to go and do something alse while you wait as this process can take a little longer, once downgrade is complete wait for your phone to reboot and disconnect.
