Yes, the 60 address + 8 is the level, just change this to "01h" hex, then go to title menu and back to reset your char to lv1.

What issue in particular are you running into?

I've updated the guide which should make things a little easier to understand for those using iGG or Gameplayer.

I haven't tried leveling them by any means other than simply doing it from the level up screen. It may have caught the 'mistake' with the server ping when you started the fight and corrected it, I would suggest +10ing the character you'd like and then going to Allies -> Level Up and doing it from there. Should work no problem for you at that point.

Hm, and you're actually leveling the character? Like from the level up screen? I've leveled a full roster at this point to +10, it's still working as of right now. Able to close out, switch devices etc and they stick.

Hard to say, nobody has been banned yet so we don't yet know how aggressive they're going to be with policing this stuff. Use at your own risk!
