Use the box cursor and just keep typing. It'll group together on it's own. You should be able to toggle decimal/hex by simply tapping on the left column while in iFile. Try that and see if it helps.

And ownerships set to mobile? What mods are you using? Make sure you are using only 1 binary and that you removed the old one before copying the modded one.

Could have been that the iPhone was draining more power than it could charge. Leave it connected to a wall charger for a bit should allow it to boot back up. Alternatively, you can also try holding down the power and home buttons. What happens if you plug it to iTunes?
