Every item drop (i.e. grass, stones, drops, eyes, claws, etc) becomes that item (Malice Jewel). So all you have to do it go to a dungeon that drops items and collect those item drops, then autowin and at the rewards screen, it shows that you got those items. Just don't collect too many or you will have to manually sell them all.

Could you please explain how it didn't work? Did it crash when you tried to open the app? Does it crash after you collect the item loot? Does it not show the items on the item reward screen? The 2nd Trial is the correct way. It should have worked. Could you also post a screenshot of the hex that you edited?

You mean the binary? Not sure if they updated yet but here's the clean binary file for Japan 1.3.0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/zr5zzngnczn6ehm/BraveFrontier?dl=0. The file, and offsets will obviously be different, but the same hack values should work. You just gotta know where to edit. I don't play Japan so I didn't look into it myself.

Are you sure you are saving properly? Check the date modified for each file and use the one that is right. BAK is backup of the original file. It adds .bak so that the files don't have the same name. If it doesn't open, it most likely means you didn't set permissions or you changed the amount of bytes that it should have. Place your cursor, then search. The offset is where your cursor is. For example, it the offset you are looking for is 0x00000004 but to the left it shows 0x00000000, that just means count 4 bytes to the right. Each byte is a PAIR of alphanumerals from 0-F. So basically, the offset to the left is a guide to the correct offset. And eight columns is so that it fits on your screen without being too small. I zoom my screen in so it only shows 4 columns And if you're using iFile, use the BOX cursor so it replaces bytes as you type rather than inserting bytes.

Which offset and what values are you putting?

Use the box cursor and just keep typing. It'll group together on it's own. You should be able to toggle decimal/hex by simply tapping on the left column while in iFile. Try that and see if it helps.
