u can input full path to mk file instead of using $THEOS and see result also use echo $THEOS in terminal to see if this variable is store in global session

i dont know why u ask me? i using checkra1n on 13.5 and for me all works fine - other options i cant test and debug anyway in first post

for exampe my THEOS install dir is /Users/true/theos so in this dir is subdir = /Users/true/theos/makefiles and here is located this file common.mk

basically its depends on ur own path of THEOS
