CheckRa1n is a tethered Jailbreak, so after rebooting you will need to run CheckRa1n app again to "enable" the Jailbreak. 
Or just don't turn off your device and you should be fine.

I think it is worth it if you like tinkering with your device and finding cool new things to do with it. And learn a few new things along the way. Just make sure to back up before doing anything, and try not to get scammed from the fake Jailbreak sites.

In some cases. You need to spend coins in order to see them become unlimited. Or the feature perhaps means that the things you buy will increase your currency instead of subtract it.
Or there could be an issue with the IPA.

You're trying to load the .IPA archive. You need to load the binary inside the .app folder inside the .ipa archive.

You can Jailbreak using https://checkra.in. It should support your MacBook. If not the GUI, then you can run the Jailbreak through Terminal.
