Help/Support [Help] Does updating over the air (OTA) Break the ability to Jailbreak?

Greetings all,

 

Several Months ago I updated to ios 7.1.X (Not sure which version) from I believe ios 6.0

 

Anyways I did that Update Over the air (OTA), using the built in setting to update from the settings app.

 

After doing that No matter what I tried I could not Jail-break my device, Most guides I read or calls for help I made pointed at the OTA update and how it break the jailbreak.

 

Due to my poor memory and stupidity I updated to ios 8.3 a few hours ago using the OTA method.

 

I understand there is currently no jailbreak for ios 8.3 yet

 

Because I updated like such, Will this break my ability to Jail-Break successfully when it become available for 8.3?

Hello SamySam,

 

All Jailbreak tools state that upgrading to a newer version of iOS via OTA in Settings causes issues with the Jailbreak so I would go with what they say since they're the creators of the Jailbreak and restore to iOS 8.3 once more via iTunes.

No worries by the beginning of July we will finally be able to jailbreak!!!!
