Yes, I meant that Widevine is protecting streams of data, so it's up to that to decode the content from the DRM point of view. As for taking screenshots, I suppose that Netflix does use the SECURE_FLAG for non-rooted devices and something else to detect both that and screen recording, but as you say it might be a lot of work to keep up with new exploits, so it might not even be worth it in the long run.
