Help/Support Cydia Error Subprocess dpkg-deb exit 2 and cydia/cydo error code (1)

[Andyluong02 50 iPhone Xs Max 13.5.1]

Hi guys,

I tried to install from a repo and received the following errors:

 

subprocess dpkg-deb —control returned error exit status 2

sub-process /usr/libexec/cydia/cydo returned an error code (1)

 

Can someone please help me resolve this issue?

 

I am on 11.2.6, IP 7+ with Electra JB

if the details of the error you have says something like “... premature member [a file with extension .tar] before control.tar.gz ....] this means the deb package has something wrong with it. This was my case so I asked the author to re-pack and re-upload to his repo again and it works fine afterward.

 

For other cases, try to search google. This was what I did for a whole day until I saw a discussion about it somewhere on the internet about my case.
