1) Root is for android and Jailbreak is for iOS (Apple)

2) I can't say that rooting your device will always be safe. I rooted my device many times and it got bricked 2-3 times. It's a LUCK Thing for me.

3) Jailbreak is to achieve restricted features on iOS which you can freely do on Android. For eg- changing system themes, fonts, downloading pirated apps, and much more.

4) IDK

5) XDA-Developers is solely for Android.

6) IDK

7) Google it

I have the Galaxy S8 and I used SamPWN on XDA to root it.  There are also custom firmwares that have more stable root in it for the S8 and S8+ like  PartCyborgRom.

I understand jailbreaking your iphone is fun but rooting your android is also fun but what I'm sayin is, you actually can able to have a lots of fun with your unrooted phone... and that too s8+, if you root your s8 you will loose the knox security and other stuffs.

Let me give you an example to make you understand the difference between ios's jailbreak and android's root, imagine a apple tree, what you can see is the wonderful apple tree, and the apples in it, say you need to get an apple from that tree, but you cant throw a stone nor climb the tree to get that apple, so in order to get the apple you take a ladder and place it on the tree, you then climb and get the apple. Thats exactly what android rooting is, you just take a ladder and get the apple for yourself... you just root the phone and it gives you access to your os files and datas

But in the case of ios, you dig the roots of the tree and make some modifications to the root of that tree so that the apple doesnt get grown on top of that tree or make the apple fell down immediately when its fully grown such modification is ofc fun to do and that's what jaibreaking is... this is not easy if people make a mistake or do something wrong...then u know what'll happen next

There's this new tree (ios 11) which its seems to be almost impossible to modify...
