Snapchat+ USERS PLEASE CHANGE YOUR SNAPCHAT PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY

Hey everyone,

Earlier today, iMokhles, a well-known developer, was seen on Twitter bragging about stealing people's Snapchat account credentials in Arabic. Upon someone noticing the content of this tweet, they posted to /r/jailbreak about it here.

Upon reading this, some were skeptical of the tweet's actual content, until it was submitted to /r/translator. You can read their translation here, which appears to confirm that he had been stealing credentials of users who he claims to have paid for his free tweak.

Based on that translation, it appears that since he is "pulling" credentials, he may have actually had everyone's credentials stored on a server, which he can get data from at his own will.

After seeing this, iMokhles then confirmed it here, defending his actions and claiming that it was a "steal for steal".

We try to stay out of things like this, but when it becomes an actual risk for the security of our users, we take action. Trust is a crucial part of the relationship between developers and the rest of the community here (we allow developers to execute code in many apps that we store confidential information in, here credentials), and iMokhles has broken that trust tremendously.

If you use or have used "Snapchat+" by iMokhles (not to be confused with "Snapchat++"), uninstall it immediately and CHANGE YOUR SNAPCHAT PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY. We also recommend the use of Snapchat's Two-Step Verification feature, which helps to guard against these kinds of malicious activities.
