Hello people. I need help with this (sorry if this is the wrong place to post it) I'm really stumped with this. I used semi restore to my iphone 4s on ios 8.3 and it was succesful. I made a backup of all my apps with ifile and put them on my computer. System apps and Regular apps. I also copyed my cydia tweaks with ifile so it could be a quick easy refresh. So as soon as it was done I got on cydia and downloaded ifile to replace the stuff it got rid of. So I started off with the system apps and replaced them all. And then my cydia tweaks. So I rebooted ans to my suprise NOTHING WORKED at all. I couldn't use any apps they would open and crash Even cydia. So it was basically a iphone with no start up apps. Since i'm experienced I installed openssh with ifile so lucky for me I could ssh the device. Nothing was working in ssh so I decied to rejaikbreak it and get Cydia working again which was successful. But there was no settings to connect to the internet so I used celluar. So i got ifile back and all my cydia tweaks. But now I have no system apps working. BUT I do have them all backed up in a folder on my pc and on my iphone. But for whatever reason when I place the system apps where they belong (/Applications) and reboot they always crash. So heres the things I tried tell me if you have any suggestions OTHER THEN RESTORING! Also i'm using a iphone 4s just to note,

1. Placed the system apps in the /Applications folder and fiddled around with the permissions using my ipad as refrence. Also used SSH to modify the whole folder to the right permissions. - DIDN'T WORK!

2. Tryed to make them a .ipa and .deb using my pc with the .app backups putting them in Payload and compressing them and trying to use ipa installer which always said INVAILD IPA. And with using it as a .deb I always get a Error code 256. -DIDN'T WORK!

I'm honestly out of ideas and I really love this phone it works great still theres no flaws (expect for this) and I would like to know how to fix it cause I hate restoring to the latest ioses cause there bad. Especially ios 9 on iphone 4s ughhhhhh.

What is the error 256 exactly?

Have you tried reinstalling Cydia Substrate?

Posted

Yes I have tried reinstalling cydia substrate, In fact I tried reinstalling rocket bootstrap, Prefence loader, Weeloader, Bzip, Gzip , SaveMode substrate and cydia substraight. Heres what the error says copy and pasted.

Executing Command: /usr/bin/dpkg -i "/var/mobile/Settings.deb"

dpkg-deb: `/var/mobile/Settings.deb' is not a debian format archive

dpkg: error processing /var/mobile/Settings.deb (--install):

subprocess dpkg-deb --control returned error exit status 2

Errors were encountered while processing:

/var/mobile/Settings.deb

Finished with Result Code: 256

I have also tryed moving it to /Applications and still no luck :,,(
