Why can't we use old binaries on newer app versions? What makes it crash when you try to do so?

They may modified something that old version binary doesn't have so it checked. Like the Phoenix Wright: DD game, we cannot change name to the new name since it would crash at start.

We know that most of IDA hack only worked with cracked binary and so, if there were a update then it won't work anymore. (Not MSHook)

my guess

whenever an app is updated, content is either added or removed, resulting in everything getting shifted up or down by some factor of the size of what was changed. Functions could be different between different versions. maybe the game needs a new file that isn't referenced in the old binary.

Hmmmm, I doubt that. If you place in the old binary, the game will just run the old binary. If there's a new file inside the IPA then that file should become irrelevant with the old binary. Even if there's no changes in the .IPA files but just in the binary, using the older version will crash it.

I believe it may be checksum or something. Maybe we can find a way to disable it or make old binaries work?
