Been a while since I was last here. So, my friend has an iPhone 6S and has its screen cracked due to fall damaged caused by her sister. Has just one long horizontal crack across the screen, and it still responds to touch. The problem is that it will show a loading wheel when the screen is unlocked, at the Springboard. At least that's what I think she said.

I'll get her to send me a picture of it and I'll update it here later. Meanwhile, could you guys diagnose this problem cuz I don't really know what's going on. Thanks a lot!

Do you mean that when the device is unlocked from lock screen , the springboard does not load , instead it shows a loading wheel and the springboard can not be accessed ?

Or

The springboard is accessible the device works but up in the status bar the loading wheel is constantly shown ?

I would say , The drop did some internal damage , it's failing to process the switch from lock screen to springboard , failing to load the springboard could be a massive or small issue its hard to tell but the device needs a service at an Apple Store.

What if I took it to be repaired at a third party repair shop?

They would still fix it , as long as they got an Apple tech you should be fine.

Situation update. My friend has sent me photos. The Springboard DOES load. But, in the notifications center, it shows that files are being downloaded.

I don't know what these files are.

And the loading wheel is NOT Apple's. It looks like an Android's loading wheel.

And the status bar turns white. I just fear that this is caused by some sort of malware or Adware.
