You don't participate in it. After you input the vortex dungeon id, you tap "Back" then tap "Home". 

 

On the home page, you tap on your name at the upper left part, where your Level, Exp, and Energy are shown. 

 

That will trigger a "Connecting.." screen then take you to the dungeon.

That's what I've been putting into it. I have the injection turned on in the deb also and it keeps crashing after battle.
