I can modifiy for example the amount of ammo I have with gamegem, but not the lifes.

Not server sided. I think you can manually hack it using Gameplayer or GameGem

Already tried, but a lot of variables comes up when I search for 2 or 1 (number of lives I start with).

 

If I change them all, game crashes.

I tried to hack metal slug 3 with gamegem and it work. I'll better take a try on this one.

Nop, as soon you die, you can continue or start it over again.

It works also on metal slug 1, I can change the amount of ammo I have, I just cant figure out what is the hex code for the number of lifes.
