Help/Support Iphone 3 restore error

Working on my brother Iphone 3g and get iTunes error while in restore mode

Also it keeps boot cycling while connecting to iTunes

No it is NOT jailbroken, I'm going to jailbreak it if I can ever restore it, he's got it stuck in restore mode

Well turns out he has a broken power button I've got it into DFU mode now I think I can get it from here

From what iTunes is saying, this sounds like a hardware problem?

 

Have you tried DFU restore?

 

Also, I think that the iPhone 3G has some tools which can restore it without iTunes but not sure if they even exist anymore.

Well turns out he has a broken power button I've got it into DFU mode now I think I can get it from here

I brought it home with me and I currently have it torn apart to try to fix the power button and I think another ribbon was unconnected inside...I'm starting to reassemble so we will see if not i'll grab redsnow and 6.1.6 ipsw and fix it the old fashioned way
