Edit: Not sure if it should be a certain percentage higher but it wouldn't work for a recommended CP of 9069 when my cp was 13360. However, it did work for a recommended of 7490.

The game calculates your CP, stage's difficult level and finishing time to decide whether you use cheat or not. If it "feels" you are cheating, it will kick you out at the end.
