what can tweak can I use to record my screen on my 3rd gen iOS 8 iPad

Display Recorder has been updated to v1.3.14 which supports iOS 8 but costs $4.99.

 

You can also try RecordMyScreen but I'm not sure if it works on iOS 8.

Aside from the apps mentioned above, you can also try other methods to record iOS screen. One of these is by using a Phone Manager to project the screen on PC, and then use a reliable screen recorder to capture your activities on your iOS devices. It needs further effort, but this method is much stable and will not consume a space from your device’s memory.
