What you did wrong is change the weapon....

 

the steps are:

1. equip a weapon

2. search for the attack or hp value (depending on the weapon) in gameplayer and chose auto search

3. go back to the same equipment and enhance it once

4. search for the new value..... if done right you should see a float value.... select it and change it to how much you want.... modify and lock...

5. go back to the equipment and close it.... select it again and the value should change.

I use gameplayer and did  your step but it still return to 0 when I change value after enhance items .

Just attack xxx....

when you select an equipment you will see attack:xxx that's the value you should change ignore everything else...

If you follow the steps I gave you... you should be fine... I'm on IOS 8.4
