Lets hope we get this. A developer from the tapped out team actually did an AMA on reddit where they said that "Sounds crap but you probably got more years play that you expected. Also not all content is easily awarded as other the years there are a ton of interconnected dependancies with quests and buildings etc. offline mode is not impossible and we actually had it in development for airplane mode etc but end of the day it’s all about the license." so maybe offline mode is not impossible?

No emulators can replicate the original source code successfully, but you have to recode the game kind of, at least a little. Mostly networking.

Habbo CoC and even WoW are able to be emulated yet no source code of those ever got used to build those.

Their iOS version is not out yet, so maybe they need some help with that?
