I think if you sideload with your Apple ID you can link with game center (although I'm not 100% sure) but if you're sideloading with a certificate you cannot or at least I haven't found a way to. That reply is for the jailbroken version of this cheat which you can login to game center with as you're using the app with your Apple ID.
