Help/Support Forgotten Apple ID Password and Apple Customer Service couldn't help me

Hey guys,

 

So I have forgotten my Apple ID Password and I am currently not able to install any new apps from the App Store. I went to the Apple Customer Service and they were asking me for a 15-Digit Code that I appareantly got when I first started using my Phone but I dont have that Code anymore. The only Solution they could provide me is that I should buy a new iPhone because on this one I can´t log out of my Apple ID without my password.

 

Does someone have a solution to how I can fix that and set up a new Apple ID on my phone? Preferably without losing any data?

 

My Phone is Iphone 13 with the latest IOS

 

(Its my first time here so I hope I don´t do anything wrong)

Hello and welcome!
 

First thing I suggest is to back up your phone data onto your pc. That’s the safest way to not lose your data.

secondly, your Apple ID is connected to an email account. Are you able to select “forgot my password” and retrieve it through that email or phone number?

Unfortunately the password reset option didn´t work out so thats out of the list.

 

How would you recommend me to save my data on my pc?

Darn, and I’m assuming it won’t let you factory reset phone without Apple ID password either.. hmm

To backup data follow these steps: 

Connect your device to the computer you normally sync with. You can connect your device using a USB or USB-C cable or a Wi-Fi connection. ... 

In the iTunes app on your PC, click the Device button near the top left of the iTunes window.

Click Summary.

Click Back Up Now (below Backups).

Yes thats my exact problem, I can´t reset my phone but also can´t recover my Apple ID password either.

 

And don´t I need my Apple ID password for iTunes on my PC?

Have you set up iTunes in the past for that device/pc? I don’t think you’d need to log in again if you’ve already done it once.

The only other way I can think of to reset your iPhone to factory is through iTunes as well:
Step 1: First, connect your iPhone to your PC and then open iTunes.
Step 2: When your phone is connected, you should force restart your iPhone until the recovery screen appears.
Step 3: When you see the Restore or Update option, simply press on Restore.
*Note: this will lose all data if not backed up.*

if these methods don’t work then I apologize but I can’t think of any other way 😅

I hadn´t set up iTunes yet for the phone or the pc so unfortunately that´s not gonna help me out. At this point instead of having to buy a new phone I´m fine with losing my Data for getting a new Apple ID.

 

But aren´t there any tools that could help me change my Apple ID or factory reset my Phone without getting blocked by the Apple ID password?

If I remember correctly, this method doesn’t require Apple ID but will lose data.

But are you sure this recovery is not gonna lead to the Phone asking for my Apple ID after resetting?

If it works and resets then the phone will start up like a new phone. Thats what factory reset does so you’ll enter a new id.
