Any idea why I would be receiving " Makefile:24: /makefiles/common.mk: No such file or directory
make: *** No rule to make target '/makefiles/common.mk'.  Stop. " If I made sure that the file exists in that directory and assign theos to its path?

This means your $THEOS variable is not declared in your session or user.

You can easily fix this by running $THEOS=/opt/theos make package

Otherwise, you need to follow the setup instructions on the Theos tutorial in Tutorials section.

u can input full path to mk file instead of using  $THEOS and see result

also use echo $THEOS in terminal to see if this variable is store in global session
