It's possible that one could hack the rewards you could get for shooting walkers outside the camp. I haven't tried that particular method yet due to my lack of tech savvy and time, but I believe it was possible. I'd love a resource and gold hack though.

 

Update: It's possible to freeze resource values and utilize them according to tests I've conducted using GAMEPLAYER. Those frozen values could be spent exactly like regular values so far. More to come later.
