it's because Usb cable Isn't compatible with iPad but it'll still charge your iPad but takes alot of time to charging your iPad

Maybe , But my friend also have a iPad 2 and when it plug in charge it say's not charging , but when he un-plug it , it increases the % of battery , so it'll take alot of time to charge the battery , maybe 5mint=1% or 2%

Just plug in iPad and leave it for 10 or 20mints and after that un-plug your device and see if it's charged or not
