Help/Support Sideloadly Error: Loading failed! Failed to init layer 2

Hello friends,

So I have a problem with Sideloadly, I installed it on my (32x bit Windows 7) laptop (SONY) and tried opening it, but when I did it opened up the logo with an error on the top saying, "Loading Failed! Failed to init Layer 2" so i tried restarting my computer but that didn't seem to help, also i read the rules and it said something about copying output but I don't understand what that is so I am going to just post the image. Any Solutions? also the error image is the thumbnail because I can't seem to post it on here.

Hello,

A few have reported this issue, and we're not sure what's causing it yet. However, I did try Sideloadly on a Windows 7 PC and it worked fine in my testing.

We will look into this and solve it, though it's a closed case so it's not the highest priority.

Have you tried it on a 32 bit?

I have found the solution to the problem. I recently did a complete computer wipe/reinstall and I encountered this issue. The problem is not having Python installed. I found this by searching only part of the error string and I noticed it was derivative of a Python error. Hopefully this gets fixed in the future. You really should not have to have Python installed to use this.

Couple of notes that may help someone else trying to fix this. Here is a [LINK] to the Python install applicable to Windows 7 (version 3.8.10). If a certain Windows security update is not installed yet, you will need to install it before Python can be installed. Here are two links [LINK1] [LINK2] to help with downloading and installing the correct update (KB2533623 is superseded by KB3063858). That's all, it will work after that 😀
