Help/Support Is it possible to modify an IPA and install it?

Hey, guys. I’m trying to modify an IPA file, as the title suggests. I’ve tried installing it, but it seems like it’s broken, even after re-signing and installing it with XCode and iOS App Signer. Every time, it crashes and fails. Is it even possible to modify a file inside of the IPA, then have it not crash after installing it? If it’s possible to have it not crash, could someone let me know how? Thanks.

Could you provide more info on what exactly are you trying to modify?

I’m trying to modify a .pak file inside of the IPA before installing it to my device. Every attempt has resulted in a crash so far.

Make a fresh start. Take that .pak file out, don't edit it, put it back inside the IPA. Try installing. See if it crashes

Then you will know if edited .pak is causing the crash

I've just installed the .ipa through iTunes with a non-edited .pak that I downloaded and replaced the one in the .ipa with, but I'm not sure what that indicates. Is it possible to install the app, with the modified file then, without it crashing?

did you installed the non modified app/game and opened with no crash?

Yep, I did. After replacing the official one with the official one through 7zip, it worked as a direct install through iTunes even, I don’t know about impactor or any signing thing as they’re down.

so, did you moodified then that file and inserted and did not installed?

what was the error showed on itunes?

It wasn’t an error, it simply greys out when you try to install the app. I don’t have any other install methods with Impactor broken. I just want to know if such an operation is even possible, modifying a file within the .ipa and having it run.

need to try with cydia impactor, probably will work, but not sure. Depends. Cydia impactor resigns the binary and stuff.
