Hi everyone,
I have been having terrible problems with my iPhone battery for about three years now. Apple have finally decided that in order to solve it, I have to wipe my phone completely and start again. However, before I do that I have been trying to save the messages from my iPhone on to my Mac, and then putting them back on my newly set up iPhone - so it would essentially be a brand new wiped iPhone but with the messages already on.
I have tried IExplorer which allows me to take them off, but not put them back on. And I have tried IBackUpBot but it won't recognise my phone or my backups. I keep getting error messages. I have disabled Find My iPhone, I have logged out of iCloud and I have ensured the backups are not encrypted but I get error messages like:
Status.plist not found in backup folder: /Users/Pablo/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/169cf2071ca6a7425a9630f7822f0862d5150b12
Error occured when handshake with device, error code:[-21] Do you want to retry?
I was about to try AnyTrans but thought I would check here to see if anyone has any bright ideas first.
I'm using the iPhone 7 iOS 11.2.5
Is there any way to edit the iTunes back up or use any software to basically just restore / put my messages back on my iPhone?
Any ideas very welcome!
Thanks,
Pablo
