Install Original APK, launch the game, connect to your account, rename in Android > data "pkgname" to "pkgnamexx", uninstall original APK, install MOD APK, rename back "pkgnamexx" to "pkgname", launch the game, connect to your account again, have fun! pkgname in this example is com.cookapps.fortresssaga something like that. If it doesn't work just try again a few times

Iirc when Malleus update there was no game update right?

It's suck that L808 sensei updated to 1065 and then the game update to 1066 right away, there is no consistent schedule for the game's update so it's really painful to do the update for mod.
