Hey, folks. You don't know me, but I'm an indie developer who recently released a game called TerraGenesis, and I guess I'm just making a personal appeal: please don't hack my game.
I worked on this app for a year all by myself, and I've worked really hard to ensure that it's not pay-to-win, that the in-app purchases are entirely optional and not necessary for success. They're also given for free at numerous in-game milestones, you get a bunch at the start of every game, and you can watch ads to get even more for free. I spend hours every day connecting with the fans on Facebook, answering the questions, and taking their suggestions. I'm 30 years old, and I'm trying to support myself and my family.
I'm trying my best to make a cool game with a cool community all by myself. I'm not some mega-corporation trying to screw people out of their money, I'm an indie developer trying to make a living, and I can't do that if everyone can hack their way around paying for the stuff I make.
TerraGenesis is how in-app purchases are supposed to work: optional content and bonuses to augment a free gaming experience, with the revenue going to support indie developers. I know I'll never be able to stop everyone, but I'm hoping you will at least help me out.
